5 lb. Weighmax Mail Scale – A compact, accurate digital scale ideal for weighing comic book shipments, mailers, and grading submissions. It helps ensure correct postage and reduces the risk of shipping delays or returned packages due to underweight estimates.
BCW Comic Book Backer Boards – Acid-free, rigid backing boards designed to support comic books and prevent bending, warping, and edge damage during storage or shipping. They provide essential structural support when paired with bags, helping preserve condition and presentation over time.
1" Blue Painter’s Tape – Low-tack painter’s tape used to gently seal comic book bags without sticking aggressively to the plastic or risking adhesive transfer. It is ideal for securing bags and temporary labeling, as it removes cleanly and reduces the chance of damage to bags or accidental contact with comic book surfaces.
Fragile Shipping Tape – High-visibility tape printed with “Fragile” warnings to alert carriers to handle packages with care. It helps communicate that comic book shipments contain delicate items and reinforces cautious handling during transit.
United States Postal Service Website – The official USPS website is used to calculate postage, print shipping labels, schedule pickups, and track comic book shipments in transit. It provides reliable tools for managing domestic shipping efficiently and accurately.
Gemini Printed Media Mailers – Rigid, corrugated mailers designed specifically to protect comic books during shipping. They provide excellent crush resistance and keep books flat and secure, making them a trusted choice for collectors, pressers, and grading submissions.
BCW Comic Book Shipper Boxes – Sturdy corrugated boxes designed to hold and protect multiple comic books during shipping. They provide structural support, reduce movement in transit, and are ideal for safely sending comics to pressers, graders, or collectors.
14×14×4 Boxes – Heavy-duty corrugated boxes ideal for shipping larger comic book orders, oversized books, or multiple mailers at once. The added width provides extra clearance and protection while maintaining a low profile to reduce shifting and transit damage.

The exterior box should be 14x14x4 or 14x14x6 for the protective shell of your shipment.

Use a Gemini Printed Media Mailer for the interior box holding the comic books.

Alternatively, use a comic book shipping box by BCW as the interior box containing the comic books.

Insert each comic book inside a protective comic book board + comic book bag. For high dollar books we suggest using a mylite4 + fullback from E Gerber.

If you stack more than 2 comic books, try to keep your stacks limited to less than 10 comics per stack. Alternate front cover to front cover, top to bottom, and tape them in a bundle using blue painter's tape. Secure the stack to the media mailer or inside the comic book shipping box.

Place your single comic book or small stack of alternating spines on the media mailer.

Securely tape your comic book(s) to the media mailer using blue painter's tape.

If you are super worried about sharp corners and razor sharp sides (attempting to obtain a 9.8 or higher grade) you should definitely tape the corners at a diagonal was well.

Carefully fold over your flaps, checking slowly that there is no bend to the comic book.

3 (Three) peices of tape when it's all closed up carefully. 2 along the top and bottom flap edges and one for good measure in the centerline.

Back of Media Mailer. You can see the top and bottom tape flaps over side.

Print your name clearly in black sharpie. Write your email address. Write your phone number too in case there is a problem. Also you should write out the name of the comic book title(s) and issue #. Write clearly and legibly. You collect comic books. You are not a doctor.

Make sure that box survives the USPS. Use 3-4 pieces on the bottom outer flaps. Use tape to tape in inside bottom flap too.

On the sides, we've seen boxes get blown out from stress or other boxes on top. Use tape on that corner seam that's merely glued. Tape the inside too. Go beyond what's necessary. After all, you just bought like 25 rolls of clear packing tape, right? Okay then, tape away!

We're going to show you the inside of the box to re-iterate what we were stressing about the corner seam of these boxes. Tape away with all that extra tape .

Sprinkle some magical fairy dust otherwise known as styrofoam peanuts in the bottom of the box, only enough to where you can't see the bottom. Shipping peanuts is fun to give, but never to receive. So you have that going for you, right?

Place your books with the writing side up and place some remaining packing peanuts on top of the comic. Only enough to which you still have a half inch to an inch of space between the top of the box and the top of the layer of peanuts. You do not want to crush your books with the box flaps because you overstuffed the box with peanuts!

Now you are ready to seal the box up. Place fragile stickers/tape on the corners and bottom of the box. Print out your USPS shipping label from the USPS website and affix it to the top of the box.

Bottom of Box. This method guarantees your comic books will be safely mailed and damage-free.
